Communication system for referees and team sports officiating.
VOKKERO "VOK-REF" is a wireless audio conference system that has been developed to satisfy requirements specific to referees of team sports and trainers: to keep them in permanent contact so that they may quickly intervene in collaboration with one another.
This system does not need a fixed installation, and can be used instantly. It makes it possible to set up continuous hands-free communication between referees and their associate judges for the entire duration of a competition.
This audio solution represents a unique combination of 3 technologies (hands-free conference call / encryption / noise filter). It ensures simultaneous communication between 5 users without requiring any buttons to be pressed to during the conversation. A high performance noise filter minimizes the background noise of several thousand fans..
The VOK-REF was initially developed in 2005 based on specifications from the French Professionnal Football League (LFP) and from the French soccer referee committee, and has been used since by the world's greatest soccer and rugby referees during events as important as the European Champions League, the 2006 soccer world cup in Germany and the 2007 rugby world cup in France. It has now become an essential tool for Ice Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse, Football, Rugby or just about any in-game officiating communication application. The System is easy to set up, completely portable, light weight and unobtrusive to the referee.

Steve Horgan, National referee and technical director
The VOKKERO® system was also adopted by Field Hockey referees during the National Women's Championship that took place in Washington. They were impressed by the contribution the VOKKERO® system made to the whole refereeing team.
Steve Horgan, a national referee and technical director stated: "Instead of having to stop the game in the middle of play to respond to an appeal or discuss a doubtful decision, questions can be communicated clearly, effectively and instantaneously between referees using the VOKKERO® wireless communication system, thus keeping the fluidity of the game."
Terry Walsh, "High Performance Director" of Field Hockey added: "The VOKKERO®system is used at international level and I am happy to see that we have taken a step forward by adopting this technology to improve the quality of the game."
The official intercom system VOK-REF does not need a fixed installation or base station, and can be used instantly. It makes it possible to set up a continuous hands-free communication between referees and their associate judges for the entire duration of a competition.
